2 New Youth Funding pots announced !!

South East Community Assembly have launched two new funding pots aimed at young peoples provision.

Below are the details of the Youth Choose and the Positive Activities Fund.

South East Community Assembly

Youth Choose 2012

To all Youth / Community groups operating in the South East Community Assembly (Beighton, Birley, Mosborough and Woodhouse Wards) you are invited to apply for a grant from the Youth Choose grant of up to £2,000.

The Youth Choose grants have been established to give funding to groups who work with Young People to address issues and provide services / activities to them.

In order to apply, you need to be a voluntary or community group operating in the Assembly areas, with a bank account in the name of the group (we cannot fund individuals or pay grants into personal bank accounts). Please read the guidance carefully to find out more about what we will and will not fund and the information that we need you to send us.

To obtain an extra copy of this application pack please contact the Accountable Body Services Team on (0114) 273 4074 or email accountablebody.services@sheffield.gov.uk The closing date for returning completed forms is Friday the 21st September. Late applications will not be considered.

Decisions about Youth Choose will be made at a public meeting held on the week commencing the 8th October 2012. At this meeting each applying group will be required to present their ideas to an audience of Young People and community members, who will then vote for their favourites.

If you are awarded a grant, we will send you an acceptance form to complete and return to us, with grant conditions. We will then make a payment directly into the group’s bank account. We will also explain to you what type of monitoring we require.

Positive Activities Fund 2012

Positive Activities Small Grants for activities for 8 to 13 year olds aim to support the city’s Youth Strategy by making available small amounts of money up to £2,500 per group to small voluntary, community and self-help groups that want to make a difference in their local community by providing positive activities for young people aged between 8 and 13 years. The activities do not have to be targeted exclusively at this age range but we expect at least 75% of the young people taking part to be aged between 8 and 13 years.

In order to apply, you need to be a voluntary or community group operating in the Assembly areas, with a bank account in the name of the group (we cannot fund individuals or pay grants into personal bank accounts). Please read the guidance carefully to find out more about what we will and will not fund and the information that we need you to send us.
